The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the official timetable for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which begins on Wednesday, June 11, and ends on Wednesday, June 18.
Announcing the update at a press conference on June 9, 2025, GES Director-General Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis said all preparations are complete. Over 603,000 candidates—comprising 297,250 males and 306,078 females—are expected to take part in the exams across 2,237 school centers and 15 private centers nationwide. “All is set. The timetable has been sent to all schools, and materials have been dispatched to district offices,” he said.

The GES is working with WAEC and law enforcement agencies to ensure a smooth and secure examination period. Prof. Davis also issued a strong caution against examination malpractice, emphasizing that any individual caught engaging in such acts will face consequences.
