Professor Ramos Asafo-Adjei Re-Elected Vice President of Linguistics Association of Ghana

Professor Ramos Asafo-Adjei, Dean of the Center for Languages and Liberal Studies at Takoradi Technical University (TTU), has been re-elected as the Vice President of the Linguistics Association of Ghana (LAG).
This re-election reflects Professor Asafo-Adjei’s continued dedication and impactful leadership within Ghana’s linguistic and academic communities. His first term saw significant strides in language policy advocacy, promotion of indigenous languages, and academic collaboration across institutions.
The election took place during the Association’s two day annual general meeting held at the ST. Teresa’s College of Education in Hohoe this week. Members cited his outstanding service, vision, and commitment to Ghanaian linguistic development as key reasons for his renewed mandate.
“Another opportunity to serve!” said Professor Asafo-Adjei on his Facebook wall with a congratulatory flyer from the Takoradi Technical University.
At TTU, Professor Asafo-Adjei has led numerous initiatives aimed at strengthening language education, liberal arts, and cross-cultural studies. His re-election is a testament to his influence both locally and nationally.
The Linguistics Association of Ghana (LAG) is a national body dedicated to the promotion, research, and preservation of Ghanaian and African languages. With his continued leadership, the Association is expected to drive forward its vision of linguistic empowerment and scholarly excellence.
