Ghana’s campaign against illicit drugs has taken a significant leap forward with the graduation of a new batch of Narcotics Control Commission recruits from the Naval Recruit Training School at Nutekpor in the Volta Region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, emphasized the critical role the graduates will play in safeguarding the nation from the drug menace. He charged the recruits to act with integrity and commitment, stating, “Your badge is a stewardship of hope—not a license for impunity.”

The recruits, trained in intelligence gathering, drug pharmacology, tactical security, and more, are now fully equipped to fight drug abuse and trafficking across Ghana. The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to support the Commission with resources and policy direction.

“Go forth with purpose, serve with honour, and never forget that when you protect our motherland from drugs, you protect her future,” Alhaji Muntaka urged.

The graduation ceremony also marked a proud moment of achievement, attended by high-ranking officials and security leaders who praised the discipline and professionalism of both trainers and recruits.
