President John Mahama has officially banned the use of DStv and other satellite TV subscriptions at Jubilee House, with plans to extend the directive across all government agencies.

Speaking in an exclusive interview Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, said the decision is part of a broader cost-saving strategy aimed at eliminating non-essential public expenditures.

“No office at the presidency is currently allowed to subscribe to DStv or any satellite television,” he revealed. “While it may seem minor, the cost savings are substantial.”

The policy is already being implemented at the presidency, where only local television channels are accessible. Mr. Ofosu Kwakye indicated that this measure will soon apply to all government departments and agencies.

“This is about demonstrating modesty and accountability. Governance requires tough decisions, and President Mahama is committed to leading by example,” he stated.

This move underscores the administration’s broader commitment to transparency and responsible spending in the use of public funds.
