Ras Mubarak Leads Trans African Unity Road Campaign, Gains Ghana Government Endorsement And Media Support

Spread the love

The much-anticipated Trans African Tourism and Unity Campaign, a bold Pan-African movement led by former Ghanaian MP and media personality Ras Mubarak, is set to take off on August 18, 2025, from Accra, Ghana. The historic 120-day overland expedition will traverse 39 African countries, championing the cause of visa-free travel, African unity, and deeper intra-continental integration.

Endorsed by the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the campaign aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework. The initiative aims to dismantle travel barriers, promote tourism, facilitate trade, and foster greater cultural exchange across the continent.

“This is a historic step toward unlocking the immense potential of our continent’s cultural and economic diversity,” said Ras Mubarak. “We are committed to keeping the public informed and engaged as we work toward an open and connected Africa.”

39-Country Route Across Africa

Participants will travel by road through countries including Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, DR Congo, Angola, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Algeria, Morocco, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and back to Ghana. The campaign team will engage with community leaders, policymakers, and citizens in key cities and towns to advocate for seamless mobility and unity across the continent.

Media Partnerships and Public Engagement

The campaign has received strong backing from several top media organisations. Among them are Graphic Communications Group, EIB Network, Asaase Radio, Woezor TV, and Eyewitness News Sierra Leone. Recently, Melody 91.1 FM in Takoradi was officially welcomed as a media partner.

In a letter dated July 15, 2025, Ras Mubarak expressed his appreciation to Melody 91.1 FM’s General Manager Mr. Haruna Babangida for the station’s commitment to the campaign. The letter highlighted the station’s pivotal role in amplifying the #OpenAfrica message and promoting African unity through authentic storytelling and extensive regional coverage.

“Melody FM’s role will be pivotal in fostering cultural exchange and economic integration across the continent,” the letter stated. “Together, we can drive a transformative movement for African unity and prosperity.”

A Call for African Unity

At its core, the Trans African Tourism and Unity Campaign is a grassroots effort to build awareness of Africa’s shared history and potential. By showcasing Africa’s diverse cultures and landscapes, the campaign hopes to inspire a new generation to embrace Pan-Africanism and demand policy reforms that ease movement across borders.

The organisers encourage the public to follow and engage with the campaign using the hashtags #OpenAfrica and #OpenOpportunities, with more details on event stops and live coverage to be announced in the coming weeks.
