Travelling to the United Kingdom has become more convenient for residents of Kumasi and the Ashanti region as VFS Global, in partnership with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), has opened a new UK Premium Visa Application Centre (PAC) in Kumasi. This expansion follows the success of the Accra centre and responds to increasing demand for UK visa services in Ghana.

Located on the 3rd Floor of the Golden Bean Hotel, No. 19 Harper Road, Nhyiaeso, Adum, the Kumasi PAC provides easier access for applicants outside Accra, with services tailored to streamline the visa application process.

Ghana continues to rank among the top ten nationalities for UK visit visas, highlighting the growing ties between the two nations.

“We are delighted to expand UK visa application services to customers outside Accra,” said H.E. Keith McMahon, Chargé d’Affaires at the British High Commission. “Kumasi and the Ashanti region are a crucial part of the UK-Ghana partnership.”

The Kumasi PAC offers a range of premium services, including:

  • Document upload assistance
  • Application status notifications
  • Courier return of documents
  • “Keep My Passport While Applying” service, allowing applicants to retain their passport until a visa decision is made

This user-focused approach is designed to make the visa application process faster, more accessible, and less disruptive for frequent travellers and professionals.

“We are pleased to open the additional, conveniently located Premium Application Centre in Kumasi,” said Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global. “It helps us serve more UK-bound travellers with best-in-class service.”

Applicants can book appointments online via the official website:

Operating hours: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Since 2003, VFS Global has partnered with UKVI, and in 2023, the company secured a global contract to provide visa services across 142 countries, further strengthening its role in international mobility.

The launch of the Kumasi centre is a strong step forward in easing visa access for Ghanaians and reinforcing UK-Ghana diplomatic and cultural ties.
