I allow someone to review and critique my songs before I release them – Wendy Shay

Published

on

Musician Wendy Asiamah Addo popularly known as Wendy Shay, says she gives room for scrutiny before her songs come out.

According to her, she allows people to scrutinize her songs and she sees no harm or embarrassment with that.

Speaking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the artists mentioned how effective the need for a person in scrutiny is.

“After writing the songs, they give it to someone to arrange the songs for you. The arrangement of the song alone can take the song to another level.

“Whenever I do music, Bullet plays a fundamental role in my writing skills because he helped me hone that talent. I always go to him to inspect and scrutinise everything,” she said.

Wendy also stated that a careful look at the lyrics and positioning of the song not only helps the artist but also renders a job opportunity for the one who does the scrutinization.

“It’s someone’s job. After you have finished writing, the person then gives critiques as to where the chorus of the song should be, etc. I think we need to shed more light on these things so people can understand that it is a ‘big’ job”, she added.

The artist, however, condemned other artists who are monopolised in the act of generating songs. According to her, no single person can do everything alone and would not need help.

“If you are an artiste and you think you can do your own thing, I think you should play your beater. You cannot do everything by yourself. It is a division of labour,” she stated.

Kuami Eugene returns with new banger ”Canopy”

Published

on

Highlife star Kuami Eugene has released a new song, “Canopy,” just days after his near-fatal car accident.

The accident occurred after ramming his Range Rover into a tipper truck at CP, close to the DSTV office towards the Dzowulu traffic light in Accra.

He broke his arm, had a cut on his lips, his leg and an injury in the hip. Departing from the conventional themes often found in mainstream music, “Canopy” offers a refreshing take on overtaking challenges

The song opens with a rich soundscape, filled with catchy rhythms, lively instruments, and the Lynx Entertainment signee’s unmistakable voice. A classic beat provides a strong foundation, while smooth guitar riffs and atmospheric synths add complexity and depth.

Known in real life as Eugene Kwame Marfo, Kuami Eugene creates a personal and relatable experience through his evocative lyrics and vivid imagery.

”Canopy” is a potential Song of the Year contender that is expected to capture the public domain like  conflagration and transcend borders
