The Jelvis Foundation has launched a new free Wi-Fi project in the Effia Constituency. This happened after the group changed its name from Community Connect. The new project is called Jelvis Free 2 Connect. It will give free internet access to students, business owners, and the entire community.
The theme for the launch was “Empowering Youth for a Brighter Future Through Volunteerism.” The event was colorful and full of culture. It started with traditional drumming and dancing by local children.
Prophet Ransford Eshun opened the event with a prayer. Mr. Seth Kwadwo Yamoah, Board Chairman of the Jelvis Foundation, welcomed everyone and spoke about the power of internet access. He said the internet can help people learn, grow businesses, and connect with the world.
Many important guests attended the launch. These included reggae star Shasha Marley, who was the Chairman for the event. Others were Jelvis Kwame Baidoo, the founder of the Foundation, Haruna Babangida from Melody FM, Michael O. Atenitsi, and respected queen mothers from the community.
Fredlove Asiedu, a team member of the Foundation, spoke about the group’s past work. He shared how they have helped in education, youth training, and mentorship. He introduced the free Wi-Fi project as a way to bring internet to everyone, no matter their background.
In his speech, founder Jelvis Kwame Baidoo said the internet is now a basic need. “This is not just about getting online. It’s about giving young people the tools to succeed,” he said. He shared his own story and why giving back to the community matters to him.
After his speech, there was a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the launch. Emmanuel Ekow then gave a short talk showing how the Wi-Fi works and how the community can use it. The event also introduced the One King Executive Fancy Club, a group to support young leaders and professionals in community work.
Shasha Marley ended the event with a strong message. He praised the Foundation for its work and called the project a big step forward. “This will change lives in Effia,” he said.
The Jelvis Free 2 Connect project brings hope to Effia. It gives people free internet access and new chances to learn, grow, and connect with the world.
